What is the Export Market Promotion Scheme?

The Export Market Promotion (EMP) Scheme, started by the Coir Board under the Ministry of MSME, is here to help you grow your coir business beyond India. This scheme is all about making it easier for you to export coir and coir products. If you take part in international trade fairs, seminars, or other export promotion activities, the scheme will reimburse some of your costs. Plus, if you do really well, you can even get special recognition for your export achievements.

Key Features of the Export Market Promotion Scheme

  • 100% reimbursement for space rent at international exhibitions/trade fairs (up to ₹1,00,000 or actual rent paid).
  • One representative of the exporter can get 100% reimbursement of their economy class airfare, up to a maximum of Rs. 1.5 lakh for international travel and Rs. 1 lakh for domestic travel. 
  • Reimbursement of freight charges: up to ₹25,000 for foreign events and ₹20,000 for domestic events.
  • Support for participation in international seminars, conferences, and capacity-building programs.
  • Organization of international fairs, product promotions, catalogue shows, and buyer-seller meets.

Eligibility Criteria for EMP Scheme

Eligibility

You are eligible if:

  • You are a manufacturer, entrepreneur, or exporter of coir or coir products.
  • Your MSME or export unit is registered with the Coir Board.
  • You have not availed similar financial assistance from any other source for the same purpose.
  • You are not excluded or blacklisted under the Foreign Trade Policy or by the Coir Board.

Non-eligibility

You are not eligible if:

  • You have already received similar assistance from another source for the same activity.
  • You or your enterprise have been debarred, prosecuted, or blacklisted under the Foreign Trade Policy or by the Coir Board.

Documents Required for Export Market Promotion

  • MSME Registration Certificate
  • Coir Board Registration details
  • Import Export Code (IE Code)
  • Signed Purchase Order (if applicable)
  • Bank certificate showing your financial status
  • PAN Card (both sides)
  • SSI/Coir Board Industrial Establishment Certificate
  • Partnership Deed (for partnership firms) or Memorandum & Articles of Association (for companies)
  • Affidavit/Declaration for monthly export reporting to the Coir Board
  • Any other document as specified by the Coir Board.

How to Apply for the EMP Scheme?

Step 1: Go to the official MyCoir portal to start your application.

Step 2: If you’re a new user, choose ‘New Login Registration’ and fill in your user name, Aadhaar details, email address, and security question. Enter the captcha and submit.

Step 3: You’ll get your username and password on your registered mobile number via SMS.

Step 4: Log in to the portal with your username and password. You’ll be asked to change your password, do that and log in again.

Step 5: Once you’re logged in, you’ll land on the Home Page.

Step 6: Click on the “+Registration” menu, then select “+Exporter” and click on “-Registration.”

Step 7: Fill in all the required details in the application form. (You can download the form from the website or get it from the Coir Board office.)

Step 8: Print the acknowledgement slip after submitting your application and send it to the Coir Board along with the demand draft.

Step 9: To check your application status, log in to your account on the portal anytime.
